FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
I’ll say a small yes, because your understanding of how the process works and some of the application is accurately derived from your experiences with other personality tests.
The bigger answer is no, because personality tests take a snapshot of your personality at any given time. Our personalities change with stage of life, depending on what group of people we are with, our mood, etc.
The APS temperament profile gets deeper, getting a snapshot of your core, internal wiring. It does more than just give you a list of some of your strengths and weaknesses, but gives you a deep understanding of your unique intricacies that make you, you.
Short answer: no.
Longer answer: The tool is interesting, and wonderfully complex. It’s not too complex to understand, but the real magic comes from meeting with someone who is certified in the APS; someone trained in understanding the nuances of the tool and how to apply it to your life.
Also in our meeting, you get to ask questions, get clarification and apply it to your real life so that you can get the most practical application out of it.
I had my APS done over eight years ago, and I am still learning about myself and working to align my life with my wiring. Trust me, the appointment will be well worth your time, and will be a lot of fun!
The APS was created by a Christian organization. I am a Christian and believe in Jesus as well.
However, I believe the core Christianity is love and loving people well, so I love and respect everyone I work with exactly where they’re at.
If you want to incorporate faith, I would love to! The APS is an incredible discipleship tool if you want to use it that way! And if you don’t, we certainly don’t have to! I am a very no-pressure kind of person.
In the corporate setting, I don’t discuss faith unless requested, out of respect for all of the different faiths and beliefs that can be represented in a company setting.
However, I do love working with church teams! I was in ministry on staff at a large church for 7+ years and understand the different dynamic of ministry. I love to bring the APS in to support and encourage those in ministry.
The motivation behind the APS is the belief that you are special, unique, with specific strengths and giftedness, and you deserve to live a life that is deeply fulfilling to you. Whether you are a Faith or not, I think we can all get on board with that!
No, and I love that about the APS! It is designed to get beneath our changing personalities, to the core of who we are
Our core wiring is who we are for our whole lives (from the womb!), and will remain our whole lives. If you took APS at 16, you would still be using the same one at age 60.
Thus, the profile fee is a one time fee!
